Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics

I have been so excited about this palette since Urban Decay announced it a few months back. I am obsessed with all my Naked palettes so I knew it would only be a matter of time before this one was added to my collection.

I am in love with this palette! The colours are perfect for any look (either day or night) and they all go together so beautifully. The colours are pigmented while still remaining buildable, it’s easy to create a full eye look with just this one palette.

The brush that comes with this palette may be small but it’s still such an amazing brush! I like using the smaller side to blend colours into my lower lash line.

This palette isn’t long like the other Naked palettes but it’s still compact enough that it doesn’t take up much space in a makeup bag or drawer.

In my opinion, if you have this palette you are set, however I do plan on doing a post to compare the Naked 1, 2, 3 and this palette so if you’d like to read that just give this post a like or comment below!

This palette retails for $68 on the Urban Decay website.

Review: TheBalm Nude’Tude Eyeshadow Palette

I purchased this palette a few months ago but I never actually really started using it until recently. I don’t know why I haven’t used it recently because it’s amazing!

dsc_0306TheBalm (in my opinion) make some of the best eyeshadows on the market. They are pigmented and easy to blend and the colours are just beautiful. I could go on forever but for now let’s focus on the colours in this palette.

dsc_0311

The first six shades (from the left) are all fairly light and perfect for a daytime look. I love using Snobby on my lid and Stubborn in my crease with a little bit of Sultry in my outer corner. I finish it off with Sassy on the inner corner, apply a coat of mascara and then my eye look is complete!

dsc_0310

The last six colours are perfect for a night look and adding that extra bit of drama you might want. I usually use a pretty natural base like Naked from the Urban Decay Naked 1 and then add Seductive on top of that and apply Sexy in the outer corner and crease. I sometimes like to add winged liner (which I make Adrienne do since I can’t do eyeliner to save my life), add some mascara and you’re done!

What I love about this palette is you have your nudes and your darks so this is a very versatile palette and it isn’t bulky so it’s easy to through  in your makeup bag. I feel that this palette has a wide range of colours to use for a variety of looks and that you are getting a great quality product for a reasonable price.

This palette retails for $36.00 on TheBalm.com

Love it or Leave It: Lip Products

I was recently going through my makeup collection and realized that I have a lot of lip products so I figured I would share with you which products I thought were worth the money and what ones I could do without.

dsc_0343

from left to right: Tea & Cookies, Pink Lust, Sway, Vintage, Stone Fox

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks ($10.00)

NYX became available in my city around 6 months ago (roughly) and it’s safe to say my obsession with this brand is unreal. The liquid suede cream lipsticks were the first product I tried by NYX after receiving Pink Lust in my March Ipsy bag. After trying that I went out and purchased Sway and Vintage. Vintage quickly became a staple colour I wore constantly. I love the colour pay off of most of the ones I’ve tried and don’t regret buying any of them except Stone Fox, it doesn’t seem to have the same pay off as the others and it looks more blue than grey.

from left to right: Ibiza, Stockholm, Istanbul, Prague

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams ($9.00)

I love these, straight up! I love how soft they feel on my lips and how amazing the colour pay off. The color you see is exactly the colour you get. I love how small they are as well because they are perfect to throw in your book bag or purse or clutch and they don’t take up much space. These are some of my top lip products I own right now!

dsc_0332

left to right: Honeymoon, Bedtime Flirt

NYX Lip Lingerie ($9.00)

These just became available in my city about a month ago and I know quite a few people who swear by these. I bought Honeymoon (a brown nude) and Bedtime Flirt (a pink nude) and I must say I’m not disappointed. I tend to grab Bedtime Flirt before Honeymoon but both are awesome colours. My only complaint about these is that there isn’t a wide range of nudes in the collection. They all look fairly similar which I’m upset about because the formula is amazing!

dsc_0329

from top to bottom: L.U.V, Echo, Lolita, Bow N Arrow

Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick ($20.00)

In my opinion, these lipsticks are some of the best on the market, for the most part. I only have 4 (for now) of the collection (I believe there are 24 colours total) and I still keep gravitating towards them no matter how many times I try to broaden my horizons with lipsticks. The only colour I “regret” (I use regret loosely) is Echo because it isn’t the blue I wanted, however, it’s still a beautiful colour. The formula of these lipsticks are long lasting and doesn’t dry out my lips.

dsc_0340

from left to right: Roach, Bang, After Dark

Urban Decay Lipsticks ($21.00 approx.)

I love Urban Decay, everyone knows that, however,  I can’t decide if I love their lipsticks. I find both Bang and After Dark very drying and the formula isn’t that great. Roach on the other hand,  is one of my favourite lipsticks ever. It’s a beautiful cream lipstick whereas Bang and After Dark are both matte. Overall, while I love Roach, I don’t think these lipsticks are worth the price.

dsc_0345

from left to right: 105, 107, 110, 45

Kate Moss for Rimmel London Long Lasting Lipsticks ($7.00 approx.)

These are some of my favourite drugstore lipsticks! For the longest time, I was constantly reaching for 105 because it was the perfect wine colour for fall or winter. The only one I wouldn’t suggest getting would be number 45 from the nude collection because the colour payoff isn’t great, you can barely tell a difference from before you put it on to after. Overall for $7.00 you can’t go wrong with these lipsticks.

September 2016 Ipsy Bag

I won’t lie, when I first saw the sneak peaks and bag design of the bag for September I wasn’t all that excited. However after looking through and testing out the products my whole view on this bag has changed. Here are the products I received this month and my thought on them!

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Teaser

Product Description:

Hello, wide eyes. A matte chestnut shade that’s ideal for creating the perfect doe-eyed look. If Bambie used shadow, it would be this one.

First Impression:

You all know my love for DLS ever since I got their baked highlighter a few months ago. This eyeshadow is beautiful and is perfect for a transition shade for any eye look.

Eau Thermale Avène Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum

dsc_0321

This Product’s Amaze Factor

Zen relaxation for the face. Incredibly soothing, it keeps skin hydrated for a full 24 hours (for reals)—all the way through shavasana.

First Impression:

This isn’t the first time I’ve received this product as a sample (I received it from my local Shoppers Beauty Boutique) and from what I remember it was a nice formula. I will give a more in-depth review if I end up loving this product!

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme

dsc_0314

This Product’s Amaze Factor

Ready to compete in the next pout-off? Win by a landslide thanks to this incredibly effective formula that glides on clear and leaves lips plump and pink.

First Impression:

I’ve never been a fan of lip plumpers because I don’t enjoy the burn or tingle that comes from using these types of products BUT when you are given a TOO FACED product you have to give it a go so that’s what I did. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I love this product. It does make your lips noticeably fuller, but not over the top! And the best part is it doesn’t sting or tingle, or at least I didn’t notice it did anyways. Also, unlike every other lip plumper I’ve tried, this one doesn’t leave your lips with a sticky residue.

tre’StiQue Mini Highlight Stick in Maldives Luminescent

This Product’s Amaze Factor:

Glow and go. This soft cream-gel formula glides on gently—brightening with what we call “adult shimmer,” perfect for any age or time of day.

First Impression:

I love this highlighter! It is such a creamy formula with amazing payoff that is perfect for any look. It’s especially perfect for the bridge of your nose and on your upper lip.

Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment

dsc_0320

This Product’s Amaze Factor:

Anyone can get a PhD (Perfect hair Day), thanks to this styling treatment that smooths, volumizes, conditions, strengthens and polishes. #SmartStuff

First Impression:

I haven’t tried this product yet, if I end up loving it I will do a more indepth review!

Overall Opinion:

This wasn’t one of my favourite bags but I did get 3 products I’m quite excited about so over all I can’t complain.
